I ma not sure about that tbh, the reason i ask is a friend of the family has just been rear ended by a large 4x4, don't know what make and both him and his wife have got pretty bad injuries to the face, the driver having a broken nose and a few teeth knocked out. They were in a 55 plate Mondeo, so not a massively old car by any standard.
I don't know the full details yet, i know it seems odd on a rear impact crash to have facial injuries, common sense says the rear of your head will just hit against the head rest, but, i believe there is no damage to the front of his car.

Was going to say those injuries are consistent with no seatbelt, he's probably lucky to get away with that in the circumstances and it will probably means he won't be able to claim injuries either or at least he shouldn't be able to.
