Default VX220

Thought about a midlife crisis to go with the Scoob as a weekend toy. Has anyone on here had any experience of them?

Yep - has a passenger ride in a Turbo. I had a 57 plate Elise from new and the VX220 Turbo was the car that the Elise should have been out of the box.
The car i was in was a 53 plate - i don't know if the later ones were any better but the seats were sooooooooo uncomfortable. I did regular trips of 80 miles in my Lotus and was quite happy doing so.
Just as an aside - on the very same ride i speak of above in the VX, we left the road and caused £7k of damage and a stiff back for me. Believe me, there was not much damage to look at but the front clam i believe is around £4k from Vauxhall

Not personally, but one of the lads at work had to move one. He's about 5ft8 and 10.5 stone ringing wet. He had some serious difficulty getting in and out because of the height of the car and the size of the sills. Once inside it wasn't a problem though

I have one, probably the quickest most fun car Ive had in a while. A great weekend toy.
As mentioned not the easiest of cars to get in and out of. Pretty easy with the roof off though.

Not a VX, but an Exige.

6' 3" and never a problem getting in or out - looked a bit awkward, but not a problem.

Oh, and these fibre glass cars don't stack up well in a crash.....

Well I'm going to view a VX220 turbo, an Elise 135 Sport and a 160 Sport both the original versions (S1). Thought by now I would have had a favourite in my head but haven't. I don't want to like the VX as I have read all the stories but it ticks all the boxes. You can get a 54 plate VX cheaper than an 's' reg Elise although I am told S1 Elise's are now appreciating while the VX is still dropping. The only thing that bothers me with the Elise is getting the S1 roof off and that is half the point of the car!
