Look cool, sound ace but;
My concerns would be;
1. Cost of fuel.
2. I bet if a part is needed other than routine servicing vauxhall uk won't have it in stock?
3 resale value. Price of fuel means it will be pig to sell on.

People who have em on vxr forum seem to love em.

I would have thought its biggest flaw was the automatic gear box.

They should have no trouble selling it and them giving you the cash instead, then. I'd never, ever take someone else's car in p/x for mine, it's not worth the risk or hassle IMHO.

Yep have to say knowing how difficult it can be to shift anything that drinks petrol these days personally would think it may just prove difficult to sell on otherwise it would have been sold by now.

auto model ??- nope always feel the vast majority off real drivers who this car is obviously aimed at feel manual gear changing is all part off the driving experience.

50k isn't a lot on these engines, as normal as long as its been serviced the engines are almost bullet proof
Autos are suited to the V8 but its up to personal preference, some people like autos where others can't stand them, i also believe the auto can be remapped for better performance as well as the engine
Parts arn't too hard to get as there are some specalists like Monkfish performance
They handle quiet well also, seen a few on track and they haven't been embarrassed by more expensive cars
As for fuel, well its a V8 and if your gonna use it around town then its gonna be high but motorway use with the odd blast and it should be low to middle 20's

Owned a Monaro VXr 6.0, test drove a VXR8. To sum up:

Ugly
Huge
Fast
Good handling for size/weight
Fuel consumption not that bad when compared to a classic Impreza Turbo. (manual...auto will be worse)
**** to park.
Engine disapointingly muted with standard exhausts and cams.
Huge depreciation.
Road tax not that cheap.
Avoid any fitted with Pirelli tyres when using it in the wet.

I planned on getting one when i gave up on the Subaru scene but after my missus younger brother bought one and i have spent some time in it/ been out in it i dont rate them that much tbh. The sheer size of it is ridiculous and it aint the quickest of cars considering it's got around 420-430bhp. Plus they dont seem to be shifting at the moment which would worry me no end, there is a awful lot of vxr8's on the market and nobody seems to be buying them probably due to the fuel consumption being that of a small country

Give it a swerve.....
