Some decent revies of this in EVO and Autocar's sub 2.5K hot 25.. Anyone driven one? Look a bit dated now, but claimed 7ish secs to 60 and 140+ topend is tempting!
Have seen a J plate, Auto for about 3K.. Anything to watch for while on a test drive or in general?

I would not pay any more than 1500 for one of these monsters ( and thats with SH ),I was lucky to test drive one of these 12 years ago, they do go well but heavy on petrol like my old scoob, lots of rust buckets about now. Heres a bit of advice you are much better with an old omega 3.0 ( high miles but more toys )if you have 2.5 to 3 grand to spend.

Yeah, LC was the daddy
Standard was a detuned engine with various limiters on it to quell the outcry of a 2 tonne car doing 176+MPH (176MPH was the speed they got to at testing but it was said they could go quicker )
Fit a chip to remove the limits and up the boost slightly and you had 500BHP
ok so an Evo etc can do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds but this was a RWD car weighing around the 2 tonne mark
Respect.
