Looking into getting a C270 Diesel.

Its mainly to get me to and from work so nothing flash anything from a 02 onwards( about 5k). I would prefer the Automatic box and the Avantgarde trim .

Basilcy just after some help. Any horror story’s, what to look out for, stay well away etc etc

Also interested to know of running costs MPG etc etc. Had a look on parkers and Merc site but always prefer the truth.


Any help greatly appreciated .

Can't say much for the C-Class, but I have a late 53 plate E270 Avantgarde - great car.

Power is more than adequate for daily use, MPG is great from a big auto car (mid-high 50's at 60mph, mid to high 30's running around with mostly cold starts)

Equipment wise, great! Mine has Command Nav, Phone, Heated Seats, Bi-Xenons, Full Leather, 18" AMG Alloys, Parktronic, In Dash CD Changer with a cracking stereo etc etc

I am getting an advert ready soon as we need a 4x4 - a wee bit more than 5k though, but not much more...

I had one of these for a few years - good cars for munching the miles although they wont set the world alight.

Quite reasonible to run too if you find a good independent.

Can't recall much going wrong with it apart from glow plugs.
