Stealerships!
CEL light came on in the MR2 - Dealership wanted £57.00 to read the codes (hours labour apparently).
I spoke to our local independent who had the car in, read the codes for free and can fit a new Lambda sensor on Monday/Tuesday.
Spoke to Stealership again re costs of sensors - £157.00+ vat.
10 mins google-ing later and i find the sensors (part numbers match) for £72.00 incl. VAT and shipping.
It pays to shop around!
Link to sensors, they sell them for most makes and models http://www.lambdasensor.com/main/mr2.htm

Don't these buffoons realise Joe Public isn't going to be ripped off anymore. You would think they'd move with the times and offer competitive prices on parts and servicing. Yes I accept they've got all those lovely glass fronted dealerships and umpteen staff doing nothing to pay, but we are all feeling the pinch.

Fixed!
Cost £72.00 for the sensor and a tenner to fit (test and reset the warning light) - £82.00 in total.
(Toyota would have charged £57.00 diagnose, £188.00 for the sensor and £ 57.00 to fit - £302.00 in total)
