Thoughts regarding a new company car please
Well time has come to think about ordering a new company car for work.
My situation is that basically for the last 15 years odd i always have vw's until my last car which is an audi a3.
The car needs to be diesel as you would expect and I am wanting one of
the blue efficiency models so the company car tax can be kept down a bit.
I have pretty much an open choice but have narrowed it down a bit;
BMW 3 Series Saloon or Touring
Audi A4 Estate
Audi A5
Passat CC
Mercedes C200
Any views on the above and any other cars I should consider ?

BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics. 160bhp, 109g/km and on a good run I can get a measured 69mpg.
Not very exclusive or exiting though but you can tell it is RWD - which is nice
A new model is due out at the back end of the year though.

You don't say what cost limit is so on that basis I'd say an Alpina D3 - ticks all boxes.
Other than that and so as not to be one of the sheep and show you have a mind of your own, I'd say the Merc.

Lead times on VW and Audi are shocking at the moment, 6 months plus on some models.
If you want lower tax try the Lexus CT200h hydbrid, 74mpg and 94g/km CO2 so will not be affected by the CO2 band changes next April so tax will stay low.

Assuming the A5 will be the 4 door?... Those look terrible if so.
If it's a 2 door A5, then it'd be a close call between that or the BM - but only assuming you can get an M-Sport model Beemer as the others just don't look too hot. 320d Efficient Dynamics look terrible with tiny skinny wheels and no option to upgrade.
New 3 series is out next summer, but also A5 is due for a facelift..

Last week I took delivery of a Volvo V60 D3 ES as my new co. car. Replaced my Mondeo IV 2.0 TDCI estate.
Even though the ES is the base spec, you still get all the toys (climate, CD stereo with MP3 connectivity etc). The motor is a 2 litre 5-pot, 163bhp and 295 ft-lb from 1500 - 2750rpm.
The cabin is a great place to be, superb seats that adjust every which way. Ride is as good as the Mondy with even less road noise. Tidy handling, and a lovely 5-pot growl. It doesn't half go as well, the motor is completely effortless, so smooth and in a different league from the new Mondeo 160bhp lump or the VAG 170bhp motors (I drove them both).
It lists at £25K, the S60 saloon a little cheaper. Volvo's own finance is £295 / month ex VAT, BIK is LESS than the Mondeo because emissions are lower.
You can get the full-house D5 (215bhp / 310lb-ft) for about £2,500 more ... I drove both and the D5 is nice but doesn't feel THAT much faster unless you really stoke it. The D3 is plenty enough 99% of the time.
Give it a go You can spec them to the moon but then the BIK starts to get silly, and the basic car doesn't lack anything really.
