Default The master plan, what toy next?

Last year I set myself a fun goal, to have a second car that I will change frequently and to inject an additional £1.5k to pa. The plan is to own a variety of cars that will allow me to gradually trade up to a Maser in few years time, but to enjoy the some other flavours on the way.
I'm now heading for car no2, follwing the sale of my MX5, fund is now at £3k, next car will need to:

Be fun (doesn't need to be fast)
Ideally carry 4 peeople
Be driveable by Mrs D
Retain value
Qualify for classic ins

Thinking of 944, Moggy Minor or Series 1 Landie, what else can you think of? (Please stop me looking at an Eclat on ebay!)

Oh, new rule added, won't be garaged, and no bits left at night needs to = no in the morning.

Jamo - Think I bought the kart off you a few years ago.....it's still going strong and getting a load of abuse from my son !
