Nope have to agrea not worth it but limited numbers make them unique hence price . a mountune rs500 spec tune / matt black vehicle wrap and you have your own rs500 replica at a fraction off the price.

Why does a hardcore hatch need such things as:
TOUCH START
REVERSE SENSORS
RAIN SENSITIVE WIPERS
ON BOARD COMPUTER
Surely you buy a car like this to drive?
If it had 3x3 points rear belts I'd be seriously tempted by an (non 500) RS then have BBS work some magic on it.
Looks awesome though

Wonderful noise, quite fast imo. Was out in a 400bhp tuned one and it felt as fast as a V8 M3 in a straight line. Not monster fast though, and a lot of the speed was hidden due to all the weight and padding. Not sure it is my type of car, especially as its fwd.
Get something rwd or awd at that power level imo.

They are quite funny to drive, you're sitting in there and it feels like you're in a new mondeo or something. It cruises along quietly as a modern wanna be luxury type of ford and as soon as you floor it there's a complete change, the engine note is suddenly loud and deep (5 cylinder, almost old school audi) and it pulls hard from 2,500rpm. The exhaust pops and bangs too.
It is a bit strange (as someone said above) that it looks like it does, is a performance car yet has so many creature comforts. I think I'd like them more if they didn't have a chrome trimmed steering wheel and other bits and the fake carbon look is poor. It's almost too 'nice' inside for what it is, and by nice I mean the sort of thing joe bloggs would love in their mondeo company motor. I actually much prefer the interior of my bug sti.
As for comparing it to your impreza. At that power I think you'd find it feels faster than your car for sure (having owned many imprezas and driven a std rs) I took my sti out straight after to sort of compare and they are quite different, my car is more about the higher rpms and the rs feels faster lower down with the extra capacity.
I certainly commend ford for making the RS, as it's certainly a nice experience just for the jeckyll and hyde performance.

standard cars can be had for little over 20k £500 remap takes it to 340 bhp
the RS500 only has 345bhp
The cars not about being the fastest, its a great car to drive and own
I still love mine almost two years on, only last night i took it out just for the fun of it

I suppose on paper this is the best in class, i should imagine accompanied with a fair bit of torque steer trying to put down 345bhp through the front wheels on British roads with or without the weather seems a little optimistic IMO....

Slightly bemused at the acceleration figures of these - seem a little lame for such a powerful car.
A current shape S3 trounces an RS to 100 for example despite a lot less power. Yes AWD but even so, the RS seems a bit slow. RS500 obviously quicker but not an awful lot.
I reckon a half decent tuned STi or similar would eat one for breakfast.
Still think over 200bhp through front wheels only is silly, even with a revoknuckle-flux capacitor-physics defying super diff.
