Default Starting a lexus LS400?

I sound so stupied asking this but.... can anyone tell me how to start a Lexus LS400 automatic. Bought the car from auction, ignition turns on, steering wheel automatically adjusts etc, turn the key but nothing. Is there something I should be doing while trying to start it, like pressing brake etc??? Hopefully it is only this and nothing more serious!

I did both, and hope it was just me!!! There was just nothing there, as if the immobaliser (does it have one?) did not turn off. Everything on, horn lights etc, just no turnover. Could be starter maybe?

I think age is J reg but could be private plate. Car and documents still sitting in auction house! I hope it isn't broken but buying from auction is always a risk! Having said that it started on the night twice.... But, £500 is all it cost and with the price of scrap I would not stand to loose too much when it weighs 1750kg!

Yeah, I managed to start it the night of auction. Maybe battery was so dead jump starting did not even make solenoid click????? But wouldn't have thought so...

Give Dave Ellen a bell at Prolex - if he can't answer you're questions nobody can (He sourced the gauges for the Depo gauge GB)

make sure the gearbox is in park or neutral as it wont start if it's in gear due to a safety switch on the box.
