A wee "race" with a Scooby
Classic shape WRX (I think) , massive "zorst,", gold alloys (I think) up a dual carriageway that is pretty long and steep uphill, lots of noise, no match for the stealth hearse
First I've had a tussle with.

Funny that Banny - but how did you know it was a 335d if it was "glued to your bumper?"
Probably a 318d... ;-)
Even so, an FQ360 is 911 Turbo territory, a couple of steps up the ladder. Bet you can't carry a dogs, surfboards, kids, etc in yours though... ;-)
James - dammit, why didn't I get a sexy bugeye wagon... 335d has lapped one or two tracks quicker than the current STi. Unless yours is well modded, you will not "eat" 335ds at all.
I knew I'd bring out the modded boys who claim to be able to scalp anything in an old tuned up classic...

Banny - it's very, very sad but many are adding two exhaust conversions and even "335d" badges to 330ds and below. Oh very dear. A decent BMW forum even has a section for pretend 335ds and 335is, M3s, etc - stuff I just don't "get."
However even a mapped up 335d will clearly stand no chance against a 523bhp Scoob! In fact I should think most supercars would struggle. You have that and the Evo? Blimey - dedicated loon car enthusiast! I bet you can't sleep in the back of yours though...
TBH most BMWs are driven very badly indeed. But then I've seen diabolical driving in Scoobies too.

I think it's really funny to see some of the BMW drivers on the road, who ride up my *** wanting to play tag every now and then. But I let them have their glory my scoob is not as fast as a 335d and I'm not really bothered... After all why would I want to stop a BMW driver from being a BMW driver! My only real bother is why none of them are ever fitted with indicators!

One of my friends picked up a nearly new 635d on Friday. Came straight round for a test...I must admit Mateeboy, these things really do shift, I was very impressed.

Yea they are solid cars and would have most petrol heads walking with some respect after an incounter that's for sure ;-) just a bit too "run with the pack" for me. But good cars none the less.

I recently had a tussel with a MY97 WRX RA (if the badges were to be belived), definetely JDM, when taking my old scooby for a spin (mate who owns it broke his foot and asked me to take it for a blast). Judging by the state of the thing it had been messed with (exhaust, filter BOV etc).
Mate gave me the nod to go for it, which I did.
It was highly amusing that the other WRX RA couldn't pull away from a totally stock MY97 UK, running on 95Ron fuel So, how does a 208bhp (ok, 240bhp ) Impreza keep up with a 280bhp WRX RA? Most likely because the WRX was a knackered old heap.
My old scoob did run some mods but I retuned it to standard when I sold it so my mate could insure it, didn't seem to make that much difference TBH, its just more laggy.

It was probably one of the poverty low spec uk models.
I had a cracking race with one of the older m5`s (the 400bhp ones) in my old classic, on my route to work there is a traffic light covered roundabout, and 2 exit lanes lead onto a NSL dual carriageway that goes up a hill, its an awesome test of "might"
I spanked it of course, but then i was always going to, lighter car, more power, more torque.
I do sometimes miss the performance

I was behind a white 335d a few weeks back and was amazed at just how quick it moved from a standstill.
Most cars from sandstill seem to move slowly for the first few feet but then speed up either straight away or a little later but the 335d just seemed to go from 0-whatever instantly.
It was like instant torque. It looked a bit surreal from behind.
I would have definiately lagged (literally) behind if I had tried to keep up with it.

Oh very dear - that's why BMs have such a bad rep - what a total ****!
Sticky - might have been, might not have been but it was fun. That's the thing with Scoobs - hard to tell what's under the bonnet. Some are shagged out old battlers, some are tuned to the eyeballs and packing monster power.
MMT - cheers. It's a decent engine for sure - I genuinely enjoy (take it out for the sake of it) a diesel, automatic estate car - if someone had said that 5 years ago, I would have laughed at them.
Great to be able to post this without the usual "my Scoob can slay a Carrera GT and only cost £4" nonsense - good on you chaps!
