Got to look at changing the 172....
Since i sold my Elise to fund my house purchase, i have been running around in the 172 i bought of my Mum. The 172 is an 02 plate with only 62k on the clock. It only had 41k 10 months ago but due to my commute i now do 20k+ a year. I'm thinking of selling/swapping it for sommat more suited to the motorway.
What do you think it's worth?
Black, full main dealer history, recent brakes all round, tidy bodywork, Stainless exhaust. Only thing which lets it down are the tatty wheels.

Personally I wouldn't base any pricing decision on the asking prices from Pistonheads. I have never seen so many optimistically priced cars in one place before, with many sellers making concerted efforts to extract the urine.

Excellent condition: £2740
Average condition: £2470
Below average condition: £2180

Brun, just for your info I traded in my 2003 172 for £4k in October. However it did only have 26k on it.
I moved on to a Mondeo ST220 and absolutely love it. Its great on the motorway. I would defintely recommend one but get a diesel as my mpg is bad!!

Oh yeah for sure. He gave me £4k but wouldn't budge on the Mondeo price. I still think I did quite well though. I was lucky to have such low mileage.

Funny you should say that Fantom - i would love an ST TDCi.
I would like sommat which sees around 50mpg, 12k+ service intervals, a/c, cruise control maybe, a decent turn of speed and not too long in the tooth with regards to milage / age.
T'other half's Fab VRS is ace but out of my league for what i want to pay. I would like to spend the money i get from the Clio without adding to it so i guess i'm looking anywhere upto £3k.

Nowt wrong with pistonhead prices, some of the prestige stuff is overpriced but I didn't have any problem shifting six cars privately so far this year, finally found one I'm keeping at last!
I look on eBay, autotrader and pistonheads to get a roundabout value and then under/overprice depending on how bad I need to sell

Brun, I'd swap my ST220 for a diesel version if I had the chance. I was silly to get the V6 as I'm only getting an average of 22mpg. I don't do many miles which is good but the only thing better about the V6 is the recaro leather seats. Its not even that much faster. The only trouble is the diesels command a higher price
You won't get one for £3k. Could try another version though.
Bit old but low mileage - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1725990.htm
You could try looking out for this model?

Right - the search begins.
Advertised the Clio at £2995 and the first chap who turned up has paid me £2900 for it. I'm just waiting for him to arrive to drive it away.
207 HDi's seem to be very cheap but still fancy a Mondy or maybe a Vectra. Thing is, i don't need the size but Focus / Astra just don't float my boat.
Them thar UK Turbo 2000's seem cheap
