Your thoughts, Integrale ?
Not everyone is a rally fan,but must at some point heard of the Lancia Delta HF Integrale in their motorsport lifetime,as a past owner,I do have a passion for rallying and for me this car was speicial, just wondered if anyone else has any stories, experiences regarding this marque.

friend of mine had 1 of these in bright red.
I remember always having to tell him when it was safe to overtake someone as all where left hookers. I also remember massive rusting arround the front top mounts.. and the most memorable event was him gunning it down jct 8/9 slip on the M4 hitting 130 before we even got onto the motorway then as we did No3 piston letting go in a big way !!!!
it was very fast for its day , alot faster at the time than the celica GT4 its direct rally compatition (at least the road going versions) mainly due to it being made out of kitchen foil i think !
still brilliant cars just a shame that most of them have rusted away now

I remember back in about 1986/87 my Dad had a Lancia Thema Turbo.
The garage gave him an Integrale when his went in for a service once and he really didnt want to give it back. Unfortunately the company car policy wouldn't stretch to an Integrale for him

I looked into buying an EVO1 about 3 years ago. A guy on here had a lovely red EVO1.
I was looking at cars at around £6K and they were good ones.
I see on Pistonheads even sh1tty JDM imports are being offered at £18+
Gutted I never bought now. Would have actually made money on a car for once. Personally I didn't really like it. Wasn't helped by driving a P1 that afternoon and deciding I had to get another scoob

I wouldn't. I'm sure the JDM prices haven't gone up like they have here. the prices for EVO1 and EVO2 aren't varied as much in Japan as they are here and if your unluckly enough to buy a car from auction that has spent most of its life near the sea then it will have rotted far quicker than usual (and for a Lancia thats pretty much as it rolls off the line)
I had a lovely Lords Blue EVO1 with black leather all lined up to buy in London. Guy was genuine and car was great. £6K was what he was prepared to take and I decided to buy a Type RA WRC edition Impreza instead.
I sold the Impreza for just under £5K I'm sure the EVO1 would sell for £12K today. Sh1te!
Check how bad the stress cracks are around the front door frame and underneath the front window.

I think they are a real icon, I was a passenger in the early 8 valve in about 1990 and it left and impression on me.
However I think they are definitely revered a bit too much, like anything Italian it will break on a random basis, parts are expensive and they arent that easy to work on by all accounts, I think now they have got into the realms of moneyed enthusiast with a garage for weekend use, daily use probably isnt a good idea, too old, too fragile, too nickable, too valuable. Escort Cosworths have gone the same way but are a bit more robust.

I think its one to go into a stable of nice motors, for your only car its probably not that quick these days.
