All BMWs are overpriced but that looks like a LOT of fun.

Seeing as the Mugen Civic R is the same price, it looks quite good VFM! Has to be worth easily £8k more than a Focus RS or Golf R too.

Just buy a 135i, and get it chipped.

Although the M1 will handle better and will be always worth more money. Plus the kudos of owning an M1.

Has Audi actually confirmed the RS3 yet?

Considering the TTRS starts at £44k, the RS3 will either be roughly the same price (not £38k, and will have to have loads of optional extra's as a TTRS can easily be specced to near £50k) or will have to peg back the power to justify it's lower price tag, and not p!ss all the TTRS owners off. And if they peg the power back, what's the point? Just be a slightly faster S3.

More like Audi would wait for the next Gen A3 to start producing the RS3.

Yes, but as the weather has been snow almost every day since I picked it up (17 December) it's been sat in the Garage all this time.

I've had it out twice when the roads have been clear. It's not so much the main roads, but the little cobbled side road where the garage is.

Hmm, take your pick from these 4 beauties:

M1 concept
M1 road car
Turbo concept

and new "M1"

It really isn't worthy of that legendary name now, is it?

Think its over piced to be honest & would have to have a decent LSD to allow it to get the power down, but then would it not be stealing sales from the M3 ?
But do love the orig M1 - such a great shape.

Dont think Audi have confimed the RS3 - but if they do then price wise its going to be silly + the usual expensive extras. Doing an RS3 in this climate would be silly and has been pointed out it would be much better to use the new A3 as a basis which is out late 2010 / early 2011.
Dont get Audi's figure on the TTRS as a S3 or a TTS can make 350 bhp with exhaust, remap and fuel pump.

I like the 135i a lot as it's rare, fast etc. The M1, so it says, is to be "£8000 more than the 135i Coupé M Sport" which means a darn sight more than buying a 135i & souping it up ... could cause the M1 a few problems? It does sound good though albeit heavy at 1500kg

TX.

3 litre, RWD, twin-turbo coupe with 0-60 in the 5's - doesn't sound familiar at all! It's like 90's Japan all over again!

Revealing the plans for the new 1-series-based model, M division boss Kay Segler said, “I want to set a clear signal that our products are financially accessible.
“With the modular production processes in place at BMW, it is possible to create performance cars that customers can not only dream about owning but also realistically afford.”

What ****ing planet is this bloke on! New Tax Bands, New showroom taxes and the continuing uncertainty with the world finances. "Realistically afford" that'll be 18 year old kissball players FFS!

For £38k it will probably have a CD player and wind up windows

TTRS makes 475bhp at stage 2 plus though. Even with just a map the TTRS has porsche 997 turbo rivalling in gear acceleration.

But the TTRS has been panned by almost every mag going for it's average handling and dull dynamics. As has the new Leon.

All speed, no handling - now there's a surprise for a VAG car...

I like the look of that 135M and the price isn't a surprise for a Beemer.

Give it a rest mate, your like a broken record, and its hardly been panned, except for maybe by EGO magazine but their verdict shouldnt exactly come as a surprise to anyone.

Still dont understand how matteeboy thinks a leon handles ****, and a golf GTI doesnt when its exactly the same chassis

The porsche is nearly double the price of the TTRS though!

Think if I had new 911 turbo money, I wouldnt get the porsche anyway, alot of options at that price bracket

Oh and you aren't like a stuck record at all with your claims that tuned Leons are faster than fighter jets are you?

I have driven a GTI and a Leon CR and the GTi is far better to drive - so they chassis in each can't be the same. Either that or Seat use overcooked spaghetti instead of a steering column.

My business partner daughter has just bought the Audi RS6...and thats been to the audi dealers for repairs more than its been on the road in her 1 year of ownership !!!
the car was bought new by the way (thank god for warranty).
otherwise on these type of cars , its will cost you big time , i mean the RS6 has 7 radiators just to cool the car lol
