They'll probably end up having to sell them to the Civic's principal demographic: namely those confused old dears down the bowling club!

Laughable
I'll have two pls!
TX.
Edit - this is an awesome machine & probably only 1/2 the price of the Mugen:

Doubt that it's much slower either.

I like this quote:
"When we launched the Civic Type RR saloon in Japan, we sold out of all 300 units in just six minutes".
That's one every 1.2 seconds. If the new car sells like that it will be sold out in 24 seconds. You'll be stuffed if the Receptionist at your local dealer puts you on "hold"!
By the way, anyone else think it looks more like an electric iron or a shopping trolley than a nigh-on 40k car?

I bet this is not getting the same review on the Honda forums! The same as the 22b is raved about on here (not by me) the Honda nuts probably struggle to see where £25k for a 10 year old impreza come from.

I don't see what the point of producing these mere 20 Civics really is.

Lol, just read back my post and what im trying to say didnt come out at all! What im trying to say is that the Honda badge followers will love such a car would not have a problem parting with 37k for one! I certainly wouldnt buy one, but 237bhp from a NA 2.0 is mighty impressive
Ps If i was spending that much on a car it would probably be on a mint tuned, r34 vspec or a M3 CSL etc etc!

Honda S2000 Edition 100 (2009) CAR review | Road Testing Reviews | Car Magazine Online
You could have picked up a last-of-the-line limited edition S2000 for 29k earlier this year.
That's a proper classic RWD sportscar with the same output/performance for 9.5k less than this old biddies' shopping trolley.
Or you could pick up an old S2000 for 6K and still enjoy that motor.

You're entitled to your opinion on the (faster ) 22B of course, but you're not comparing like with like. The obvious rival to this Civic would be something like an RS Focus, which looks a whole lot better, has a whole lot more power, goes a whole lot quicker and costs a whole lot less.
I don't see what the point of producing these mere 20 Civics really is.

Personally, for £40k I rather have one of these:
Meridien Modena : Audi RS4 Avant - 4.2 Quattro
Trevor Jones Car Company : B.M.W. M3 Coupe 6 speed (Satellite Navigation)
ALEXANDERS PRESTIGE : BMW M5 SMG EDC NAV BLUETOOTH 19" ALLOYS FBMWS
DK Engineering : Ferrari 456 M GTA (Modificato)

So, about a grand per extra bhp, I know its not all about horsepower and I am sure its one of the best FWD hatches but 38 grand, thats mental, the car its based on wasnt as good as its predecessor, simplified suspension, heavier and slower, so does that make this as good as the previous model ?

An R26R Megane, the most focused hatch around is £22,900, a Focus RS with 300 bhp which I would imagine will eat this alive is about £26,000, honda either dont care or are very confident.

I was reading a review about the new focus RS, and they come to the conclusion that it wasnt worth the extra £ over the ST. Still the ridiculous torque steer, bone shattering suspension and a pathetic turning circle due to the huge wheels. Does look gorgeous though. (in white )
