I have - I looked long and hard at the 2.5V6 sport as the only alternative to buying a 2.5Legacy. Muchus funnus!
The Galant is a nutty car - it really is - turned me into a hooligan in about 50m! VERY fast, very quick and very fun! Trouble is, it's only front-wheel drive and I managed to lose the front end twice in about 20 minutes test driving.
I bought a 2.5GX Legacy estate over the Galant 2.5V6 sport estate mainly because of the much better grip and trustworthiness of the Legacy. But, it really doesn't compare on power and acceleration. (I'd even go so far as to say it's a bit disappointing ) If you're doing much country-lane driving, look at the Legacy. If your driving is mostly motorway, you'll have a much more comparable car to your Impreza with the Galant - just don't expect it to turn
Richard
Oh, by the way - I work in Hungerford. If you want to have a look at the new Legacy and get an idea for how it compares, you're welcome to. (I've also got the thing running on LPG, so it's nice and cheap to run!)

Have a look for a Legacy B4 RSK
280 bhp, twin turbo, estate option (GT-B), the BEST compromise of ride quality and handling I have ever driven, well screwed together, a true Q car, loads of room...blah, blah, blah
Just try one - you'll love it, honest

Yup, I've turned into a right Southern softie (still a Brummie at heart!!)
Do you manage to get any of these impreza boys to wave back ? I've almost given up trying (the only down side of the car other than the running costs!!) ?
