rear NS shunt?

the last panel should start with the same 'sheen' as the front door (before it curves) but doesn't

For a door to be "that" different, it would have been replaced by one off another car in a scrap yard (shades of new cars vary with batches). Or it was done by a feejit, who bought a new door (new or secondhand) and had it sprayed as a seperate item then fitted afterwards.

If it were sprayed properly, you'd see the colour variation where it was blended and faded between the front door and rear quarter, as they would also have to be sprayed to get the correct finish (assuming only the rear door had to be repaired/replaced).

This two tone door is a perfect example of a door properly sprayed with the correct colour, but with a poorly mixed metallic pigment (hence the metallic "flip" shows it up appearing to be a different colour)....

Believe it or not, under 90% of conditions it is unnoticeable, and totally dependant on the angle/height of the sun and where the person looking at is standing. (I'll add this has nothing to do with our bodyshop, it would never be allowed out the gates like that).

I think I'll give it a miss.

May have been nothing too bad, but I bet dealer would deny there had been any accident/replacement/respray.

Cheers guys.

might just be the light \ angle of the sun throwing funny shadows, (big shadow on floor by rear suspect door) think I would want to see the car in real life before deciding

Maybe the door is genuine and it's all the other panels that have been painted
