Default The worst car review.....EVER!!!

I could not believe my eyes when I saw this 5th Gear Audi TT-RS review, it's utter sh1te! (possibly like the car?)

In the end all we know is that Jason Potato (lol) created tons of C02 just to take a pos small private jet to test a car, that we dont even get a proper review about!

What crap, Top Gear any day of the week!

Chip the RS and it will be eating up its bigger supercar brother the R8.

Pants review though, told you nothing really about the car.

Supercharge the R8, and watch the TT-RS go backwards.

Tuned V's Standard argument again.

The TT isn't as good review as the RS4, R8, S4, simply because of the Haldex system.

Yep. The Veyron uses the Haldex centre clutch. The current Haldex stuff (v4.0) is not the same and nor is it set up the same as early VAG Haldex cars (which is where Haldex got it's bad rep).

The older VAGs are set up to be FWD and have slow reaction times and are programmed to only kick in when the front loses traction. The latest version of the Haldex is permanent AWD reacts just as quickly and with more accuracy than a Torsen and can be prgrammed to work in specific ways.

So the S3 has the new one, and the TT-RS, S4 etc etc?

Yup: Haldex units with a pre-pressurisation pump are much more improved over the original; as they don't need drive to achieve full lockup. Just add a Haldex HPP controller and stick it in race mode for some drifty fun

As seen on Audi S3, Audi A3 quattro, TT, and various Lamborghini, Volvo, Land Rover, not to forget Seat and VWs.

S4/A4 quattro is NOT haldex though - thats a Torsen diff (same with the Vw Toureg).

I's want torsen on a £42k car, however good Haldex has got. I had Haldex on the R32 - it's fine but not as good as a decent torsen set up.

Reviews of the TT RS have definitely been lukewarm.

The recent RS4 and RS6 appeal about 123412312512412 times more.

The R32 Haldex is not the same as the Haldex on the TT-RS. The R32 used Gen II Haldex, the current version being used is Gen IV. Gen IV is completely different from Gen III (which was a development of Gen II which was completely different to Gen I) as in it uses an electronic diff and does away with the hydraulic pump but uses an accumulator to provide the instant pressure and thus be as fast reacting as but more controllble than a Torsen diff (or any other make of torque-sensing differential)

Critcising Haldex based on driving a gen1 (MKIV R32 ) equipped car, and not the actual car in the review, is like someone driving a MK2 Suzuki Swift (aka Subaru Justy) and using that experience to acclaim that all Subarus are Rubbish

If you want Tosen get a Rover 220 Coupe, the Torsen must make that a great car!

Nothing special about it; just a few extra cogs inside a normal diff housing, and very strict patent.

Additional Haldex info: MKIV R32 uses Gen 1, MKV R32 uses Gen 2 (better and faster acting, and more lock at much lower speeds).

All in all, its just a electro-hydrualic clutch: Whats a plated LSD? A preloaded-spring clutch. And DCCD? A electro-hydraulic clutch as well. Scrape off the branding and there is not much to either technology, nor in its abilities; Its just how its implemented in each individual application.

It's a shame they dont a proper review on 5th gear, they used to be quite good at it.

Have they lost some of the presenters, like Vicki and so on?

I'd assumed a MkV R32 thinking no-one would be daft enough to compare a MkIV with a brand new TT-RS

Plane leaves at 19:00 and we're not gonna get there till 19:07 according to the sat-nat. But wait, OMG there's a twist: we're about to run out of fuel according to the fuel gauge!!!!

I'm on the edge of my seat here!!!

I agree 5G is crap compared to a rapidly degrading TG, but if you want to cite the 'worst car review ever' you need to be looking at Ginny Buckley. She was painful ! Anything by VBH looks almost Top Gear standard by comparison and she's painful too !

Not only that, but why the **** does he have to go through 5 or 6 countries and arrive late at a plane???

He could have just minced the car to pieces in some German B road...............and then given his conclusion and need not have made a massive **** of himself!

I think VBH is great, not to mention cute.
Her Forester STi review, the M5/6 reviews, all a load of fun.

WTF is going on???

Cars are as expensive as ever, and if they waste millions on these shows they could bloody well make an effort!

Just watched this, and yes, a shockingly bad review.

Total copy of a typical top gear formatted review. They even had the old chase cam where they were following him running into the airport! Fifth gear is utter ****e!! Top gear all the way!
