Ran one last year. Well built but was disapointed with performance, totally reliable, 30mpg, reasonable service costs via specialist, nothing else to say really.
Oh, Xenons are prone to the odd malfunction ie pointing about 3 feet in front of he car....
Nik.

I have owned my s3 225 for about a year and it is a fantastic car, as said above well built once mapped 265-270 bhp very good performance and they look stunning a very good all rounder and for the money i dont think you can buy anything that covers all the bases aswell as the s3 does.

didnt own one but drove one a few times and was unimpressed with the power/handling. Having said that good value for money and are meant to be very well built, never driven a modified one so cant comment there.

Drove one when I was looking last summer. Drove there to have a go in one in my wifes 180bhp Leon Cupra which made the S3 feel wheezy and slow

the only fault i had was the fuel gauge uset to lie, quite a common fault as far as i was aware, mine was a 99v, i bought it with 90,000 sold it with 116,000 never had a problem i also put a ecs paddle clutch in with a lightned fly wheel cost me alot lol, but was lighter and just as smooth to use as the standard clutch,

I nearly bought one of these years ago. Just when they upgraded from 210bhp - 225bhp. Local dealer had a Red one in. Looked spot-on.
In the end, it was just to much money at the time. No discount, so walked.

My wife had one in dolphin grey until our 2nd child was born and she loved it. It was quick, although not rapid, but the handling was fantastic and it was very reliable. You can pick up some real bargains out there.

I had 2003 S3 mate, solid car, built brilliantly, superb interior, No major known issues, overall nice car downside is handling although quattro it does handle like a FWD car, loads of flex.
I'd have another one.

My brother had one years ago- i thought the performance was very good but the steering has a very "wooden" feeling.
Fit and finish in a diiferent leauge to the same age scoobs and overall more of a "desirable" package.
