Default My other car - Auris SR180

I had my new black Auris SR180 delivered 2 weeks ago and thought I would put a post up just in case someone is after a good diesel. I dont know if anyone on here has one or is thinking about getting one.

The car has done 1700 miles now and has loosened up alot now. The figures for the car is 174bhp and 400nm / 295 lb-ft of torque. The 0-60 is 7.8 secs which i think is quite respectable for a diesel.
The drive is very nice and when required there is plenty of pull there especially when moving in 3rd. 1st and 2nd gear are pretty useless when accelerating hard but once in 3rd its a quick car.
As its the SR model it has rear tints, lowered suspension and larger wheels.

The interior is very spaceous and has a lot of gadgets. I was going to opt for the sat nav but didnt bother in the end. The boot space is big enuf for us and we have a baby its a requirement for space and it fullfills all of that.

The exterior isnt bad to look at either. The rear end could do with a splitter or bumper that drops down further but apart from that its a nice looking car.

I will post some pics up but i found some on the net of what it looks like for anyone who hasnt seen one. This one is in white but mine is the same just black.

Overall i am very happy with the car and happy that I didnt go for the Audi A3.

Interesting choice, bit left field. So what made you chose the Auris?

I think the main thing was you dont see many SR180's about and the spec is very good for the price. In comparision to an Audi A3 you get alot more for your money. Also its Jap and its well built and fingers crossed i shouldnt have any engine trouble if services are maintained.

I quite like the SR range but I do wish Toyota would produce some hotter machines like they have in the past.

Keep us updated how you get on.

Some good reasons not to buy an A3, but it doesn't take much

Looks good, HankScorpio said, keep us updated.

I have been looking into a possible remap later on and i believe from looking about it takes the SR180 to 210bhp and the torque obviously increases alot aswell.

Need to do some more research on that before i decide whether to have it done or not.

My mother's neighbour has an Auris. Think they just look very bland, and very boring.

I've seen a few of these about now, and must say I think they look good. As said, the standard one looks ****e, but the SR180 looks tip top! Keep us updated how you get on with it!
