Discovery 3
Ok so having just got myself a Great Dane pup it's time to look for a bigger vehicle. Fear not I am not giving up the Scoob though. The girlfriend and I have been looking at the new style Discovery's. Anyone got any advice, warnings or praise for these motors?

I got a Discovery 3 for exactly the same reason about 4 weeks ago. Got a Weimeraner pup and bought the Disco so I can chuck her in the back.
Can't fault it really, its a cracking drive. I've took the extended Land Rover warranty at the cost of £1k. Completely covered though so if anything does go wrong no big bills.
There are some good deals about. I paid 12k for mine, its an '05 "S" TDV6, 55k miles in black with 20" upgraded wheels and privacy glass.

I had the 4.4 V8 SE and loved every minute of it, sold last year but now looking at getting another, again it will be the V8. Still manages 20mpg. Not bad for a V8. And 300BHP makes it more eager than the TDV6.
Just make sure the software updates are done, 2006 models onwards had most of the faults sorted. Earlier models had problems with the EPB and also the compressor for the air suspension, although most will have been replaced and be on the upgraded versions.

Well I've gone a bought myself(well me and the bird) a spanky new Disco 3 XS. Hopefully pick it up before Saturday. Got a cracking deal. With a £2k trade in we got £9700 off+Side steps, tow bar and full set of mats thrown in. Cost me £27k on an 09 plate. Pretty chuffed with myself.
