Boxster 3.2s vs 3.4s
Looking at a couple of cars tomorrow. Both 987 new shape Boxsters, but one is a 3.2 and the other 3.4. Are there any differences apart from the engine? Do either come with a limited slip diff?
I don't think any boxster or cayman comes with a LSD.
3.4 has 10 more bhp and also higher co2 according to parkers: New Porsche Boxster Car Review - Facts & Figures - Parker's

Only the very latest Cayman has LSD as an option, £800 ish IIRC, dels start in a couple of months I think.
As for the 3.2 over the 3.4, I would go 3.4.
Porsche tend to iron out little issues when they upspec an engine, if they are the same price then 3.4.
I tested a 3.4 when I had my 2.7 986 and it was a sweet motor. I have also had a 3.4 Cayman on 24hr test and I must say I was fairly happy with the engine, it was just the space in the back that was lacking which is why I went for a 997 in the end.
Dont forget to get a good warranty and make note that to get the Porsche approved warranty the car must be 100% factory standard and you have to own it for 90 days first if buying from a non OPC dealer. Also, you will have to pay for the 111 point check. This might seem like a bit of a faff but if it needs major work then it will have been a wise decision.
