1. Anyone know the cheapest place to get one (JamJar did them for £22k but looks like theyve stopped doing them). And
2. Do S3's hold their value as well as Audi 2nd hand car prices suggest or is that just dealer markup? i.e. I see year old S3's with 10k or higher on the clock for around £24-25k which is very good considering the UK OTR price is a tad under £25k.
3. What is the current Euro standard warranty on Audi cars?
4. When does the new shape S3 come in?
Cheers,
Simon

I havent got a P1, but am looking to get one. The S3 is for my uncle although with my present financial situation and insurance quotes of £1,300 I think I may buy an S3 (£775 Insurance).
BTW Dave S6 my uncle doesnt want to collect himself from abroad so Sports Imports are out of the question.
Cheers,
Simon.

Hmm Virgin Import them for £22,100 all in compared to the UK OTR price of £24,750. Plus all the options are cheaper.
Edited to say for some reason Virgin options on imports (at least on the S3) are at UK list price. Seems like a scam seeing as the euro prices are up to 50% cheaper

Motorpoint (Derby & Burnley) had stock black S3's ( blk leather) a couple of weeks back for £21,995
I've just swapped my MY99 Impreza for a new one from Audi UK
Std Euro warranty from Audi is 2 yrs although many of these supermarkets offer 1 yr only (option to buy up to 3)
I went for a UK car from a main dealer in the end because:
No warranty hassles
Better resale apparently - I've read plenty about selling on euro-imports and losing your initial cost savings in greater depreciation - I'm sure you'll find those £25K used S3's are UK main dealer cars.

Hmm just been for a test drive in a V reg 13,000 miler (only one they had at Vindis in Cambridge) and it was sadly lacking. The gearbox was clunky and worse than that of my current car (read primera). Seemed slower acceleration wise than a 206 GTi. Very heavy and the steering offered little feedback. Anything over 80 and its feels very "washy" and disconnected from the road. Interior was nice with blue alcantara and black leather recaros and some nice shiny black plastic on the dash. However that doesnt make up a £25,000 price tag by any stretch of the imagination.
Add to the fact I had to ring up 3 times to sort out a test drive (without one call back) and that they couldnt get a demonstrator (225bhp 2002 model) so I had to drive a used car "accompanied" made it less than memorable. There is also a 12 week lead time on a new S3 which is the same from Europe. If they get a 225 demonstrator in I will go and have another look but it was less than convincing this time around.
