Smax - not much luck with ours so far
Anyone ever bought a car that just seems to be unlucky?
Bought our Smax brand new (56 plate) and within weeks some old sod drove in the back of us. New bumper fitted.
Next up, left car in car park and came back to find another sod had managed to put a big crease in the lower part of the rear ns door. Great! What is wrong with people!!! no note or nothing.
Next, come back to car week later and find a trolley dented the boot, taken paint off.
Next off massive dink and crease in passenger door. Then another a few inches further down a week later! WTF!!
Then large stone comes bouncing off a lorry coming down road and cracks the panoramic sunroof.
Then, the latest, this week, turbo stops working (luckily under warranty still)
So, its taking quite a beating so far. Only had it 18 months!

Wow, thats an unfortunate series of events, we have the Galaxy and so far nobody has defiled its shiny flanks though like its predecessor its only a matter of time, my Saab now has a nice bike brake lever disk from one of the kids and scratches from being hit by a leather football covered in grit from the neighbours kids, on of which was absent mindedly playing agsinst the wall against my fookin car, their parents dont care so they get to clamber all over their cars and treat them like ****.
Not as economical as the Sharan 115, but then it is heavier and has another 25 bhp.
Really pleased with ours, its far better than the Sharan we had, only prob so far is its saying the alarm system needs service.

Pretty unlucky. We've only had our S-Max for a couple of months, but so far it's been 100% reliable and not picked up so much as a stone-chip.
Is yours the 2.5T or a TDCi? Ours is the former, so would be somewhat concerned about failing turbos.
Gary.

ours is the 1.8 tdci. Apparently (so I've heard) they use a part-peugeot engine.
J4cko - meant to add that our alarm needed servicing upon delivery of the car too, another thing to add to the list of problems with the thing

Our S-max is brand new, 07 plate. Only done 10,000 in a year but so far we have had someone drive into the rear after a week, damaging the new rear parking sensor (fixed under warranty), leaving scratches on the bumper and a small dent.
Since then we have had the battery replaced as a precaution, before then finding out the well known issue with the headlight switch was causing a battery drain, so we had a new switch fitted under warranty. And a new windscreen due to a massive crack from a stone.
Otherwise, it's survived. Would say the wore part of it is the silver by the handbrake that scratches so very very easily. We have about 4-5 small ones that look pants and car is a year old. And kids are always in the back so it's not them.
Wish it had a rear (passenger) cig lighter, not just the one in the front (which means the dash looks pants when the cover stays open all the time, or the one right at the rear.
Otherwise, being the 2.0 tdci Zetec with tinted glass, front and rear parking sensors, 6 disk changer and front heated seats, has everything we would want and a top car pretty much. But attracts more damage than any other car we have had in ages - just like you...
