1. whats the main differences between 7 and 8?

2.models: - Ive seen gt-a, Gsr, Rs , Rs2, Rs extreme and then you have the FQ'S and the MR'S.
obviously the MR's are the ultimate, but then which is best?? the FQ'S???

Get yourself over to Mitsubishi Lancer Register mate. Thats a raft of question and would take ages to answer.

The GSR is the one to go for IMO. Best allrounder unless your looking at a track biased car then start looking at the other models. It has been said the 7 was a rushed Evo to keep up with subaru, and the 8 is the one to go for but personally I now much prefer the styling and look of a 7 which is pretty much the same car, and can be had for little money these days.

1. whats the main differences between 7 and 8?

aesthetics and thats about it tbh, minor turbo differences i beleive as well

GSR is Jap import, RS is stripped motorsport version, RS extreme is rare as rocking horse ****, GT-A is auto/Semi Auto

FQ's are Uk models MR has some more trim and added exclusivity

3. which model for value for money ? fq-300, 340 etc

FQ300....mod it for 2k and have 370-380bhp reliable. The differences between the models is that 340 has a HKS catback and OEM remap

4. which are imports and which Uk cars????

All EVO's are essentially Imports, but ones that come from UK dealers will be badged as a FQ. I have a IX GSR and the only differences between this and UK FQ IX's is that UK have HKS hardpipe kit, HKS catback and the OEM remap

Main differences between a VII & VIII is that the 8 comes with a 6 speed box as opposed to the VIIs 5 speed.
Con rods on the VII are thought to be a bit week and prone to failure above 380bhp.
I would buy either a GSR import and mod it or buy the VIII GSR EU spec car which although has a 5spd box, represents great value for money.

After much mmm ing and rrr ing i tried and bought an evo7 rs2 extreme. Pick it up on sunday. I wasnt sure on getting an evo after having three imprezas before, that was until i drove one. Seriously what a car, cant wait. Either a 7 or an 8 you will be happy with.
