Default Tiguan, Q5, Kuga

As I can't get my golf clubs in my S3 was contemplating a change. Love the new Q5 but 30k!!! Anyone tried the other two?

lol you finding out how bad the boot is in the S3 then ! Can believe its such a funny shapped boot - almost curves in too much ! I end up dropping the seats or using the through load for most of my longer items
& no sorry not driven the rest - but the Q5 is a nice drive but pricey !
Isnt the Tiguan and Q5 the same chassis \ common components ?

Richard

Just mulling things.

I dropped the seats to get two sets in, but they will go in the load through. The Q5 looks nice but Sline is min spec for me and I suspect we'll be looking at 33/34k and i'd rather have an A5 at that price.

The Kuga is better looking than the Tiguan but badge snobbery takes hold a bit.

The Tiguan as the new common rail diesel engine, We sell them and We've only had one come back with a fault as yet, I'd test driving both of them, the Tiguan is really nice and easy to drive.

New Legacy Diesel is the same money, can be an estate, is 4x4 and 150g/kms much less than a Tiguan!

Dean. 3 questions

1) Do you know when the Golf R36 is due for order? When are the specs due?
2) What type of discount could you do on a Golf GT TDI 170 DSG?
3) When is the new scirroco available for order? Will it get the 170 TDI engine from the start?

Just thinking of some alternatives for my next car.

If I fancied an estate it would be an A4 Avant. but then I'd probably go for an RS4 :|

Hi,
1) No news at all on the golf R36 maybe it will come in @ Mk6 stage, although the New Passat CC is having it from launch @ 300bhp.

2)Best of with an EX demo our Managers all drive them, mostly spec'd up with leather, Multifunction steering wheel etc. (Will do you a decent deal just let me know when you think about changing).

3) Scirroco is launched in UK July 21st, the 170 tdi won't be avaible at launch although the 170tsi will (the turbocharged/supercharged 1.4 petrol).

PM if you need any brochure's. Dean.

Well it didn't really go out, it Cut out and wouldn't restart, day before customer was to collect, Turned out it was a electric fuel pump relay not pushed in firmly from factory this was a 2.0tdi 140 common rail, (VW no of this fault and are resolving it but shhh).

I`d have thought it depends on how much you`re willing to pay and how poor you want your aftersales service to be!

PS, I remember Wolverhampton VW when it was on Raby Street, bought my Corrado VR6 from there. Does Terry Lane still work there?

Thanks, but not really answered my question. Which models (i.e. golf, gti, passat, etc.) tend to have the most problems?

Cheers Dean.

Waiting till I see what the spec of the new Focus RS is first. Could be tempted by a Golf R36 or Audi S3 though.

Failing that, and due to current petrol price rises I can see myself with either a VW golf/Scirroco or Audi A3 or A4. Would have to be the 170 TDI & DSG.

Oh sorry, I'd say the Passat is possible the car that comes back the most, but these are company vehicles that are on the road all day. Just niggley faults really not major engine or gearbox faults.

Good to hear, I always liked his dry sense of humour, he was very helpful when I had a slightly troublesome Golf many moons ago. Actually the last car I bought from Wolves VW was a Golf 1.8T (T994ROP) I loved that car!

Late 2008 according to Audi website

A quy we sell IT hardware to, has some serious fingers in a lot of different pies inc selling cars to quite a few premier footballers and he gets lent cars by a few UK importers before they are released to drum up trade.

When we first saw it we where convinced it was the VW version with Audi grille & badges on ! Left hooker - possibly a show car ?

Is your surname "Cant" by any chance? I'm sure I've dealt with you before, I'm the Workshop Controller who roadtests cars with customers to Replicate faults?

Nope, Robinson. My 1.8T Golf was faultless, I stupidly swapped it for a 20 valve V5 Golf which was anything but faultless............

It was a solid red 5 door, bought from Willenhall Coachcraft (they had a better px price!). It was mechanically OK but the interior quality was poor. I only kept it for a year.

I got a silver Bora loan car from you guys when it was in once, a silver TDI 130 with a votex kit on it, I think it was the service managers? It was after I`d had that for the day that I converted to diesel!

That`s the one! I bought a set of Evolo wheels from him, did me a tidy discount too!

It`s my sad duty to report that I went from Golf V5 to......

A3 1.8T Sport (should`ve specced air-con)
Golf TDI 150 (loved it)
S3 (better to own than drive)
Merc C Class diesel (don`t ask!)
A3 Sportback 2.0TDI (more warranty work than I care to remember)
Passat 2.0 Sport DSG (wife thought it was too big)

Now in a Touran 2.0TDI, it`s OK, the trouble and strife loves it though and as she`s in it 70% of the time I guess that`s all that counts.........
