Default Good place to buy a new/nearly new VW Polo

Its been many many years since I bought a new car, and a member of the family has turned to me for advice (yes, she is that desperate )

Anyone got some recommendations of places to go to get the car at a good price. We will want proper UK spec, and a warranty UK dealers will actually honour.

There have been so many horror stories, I'll admit to being a little confused as to where we stand. I know where I bought my new car from, and I won't go there again. Once it was out of the door they did not want to know. 2 dealers refused to do work on it since it was an import...even though it had been registered with Peugeot UK...they just wanted to be awkward Anyway, I just want to avoid any hassle, so recommendations please

hmm, thats an option I suppose. Motorpoint are not meant to be that good for aftersales support though?

Is there not some place that sources cars through main dealers but at a large discount. They have one dealer per make of car or something like that so they can get you a car from a UK dealer, but at a big discount.

I suppose if the car is a year or 2 old then if there's any problem you can always use another dealer - the warranty should cover it?

When i bought the astra from MP it was brought from another branch so i didn't see it until i went to collect it. When i saw it i noticed it had had a smart repair on the bumper corner and it was off shade.
I told them i didn't want it unless the repair was redone properly which they agreed to (after a lot of persuation - they kept saying it was a used car) - a week later it was as good as new.
It saved me £2300 over buying from another dealer

Thanks for suggestions

The deal was done this afternoon. They ended up going through a main dealer who gave them a discount. The dealer was not local, but matched the prices we found on the internet. So hopefully all will be fine

I was going to suggest Buy a New Car on Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) or Hire Purchase (HP) Finance but too late now
