Nice

Whats the steering like in your opinion? I've not driven a 197 yet, but have done new clios and the Megane 225 and found the electric PAS horrible....far too highly assisted with hardly any feedback, like its designed for OAPs suffering with arthritus in their arms.

Truth be known I have never driven a car with electric power steering that I liked - with exception of the NSX, but even then I had gripes with it!

i am interested in the new clio sport, currently got an older 172 sport at the minute having sold the scooby a few years back.
they are fantastic cars to drive and surprising how good they are in the bends and once rolling.

steering seems ok, probably not as good some but you do get feedback. everything else seems to make up for it anyway. very very good fun!.
just wish they did the 2ltr turbo from the megane in the clio sport.
tempted with either the dci 175 megane sport or the 230hp r26 megane as well as a clio 197.

decisions decisions, good choice though.

Guys

I bought one for the mrs (well a 2nd car for me really) and although a great car and awesome little engine, they are flawed. Ours has been in and out of the garage with knocking noisy, brake issues, poor build quality etc. This is my first renault car and I dont think I will buy another one, the dealers are simply shocking, have tried 4 of them and all the same. But the car is a good one, eletric steering INHO is ok, the wheel is great although a little large IMHO, geerbox is good and if you like reving cars to make them go you will enjoy the car. Fuel economy is awful (22MPG average for us) and as already mentioned motorway driving becuase of gearing and noise isnt the best. But put it on the twisties and you start smiling..

Well, guys, after few days, my opinion of this little car is that this is right choice for second car (or every day car). To go to work, pizza... car is amazing. Comfortable but sporty. Not like Impreza STI, but like I said, perfect 2nd car. Still running in but car has potential, definitely!

have you got a rattle comming from the door/ dash area?
I had this with my last Clio and it was a common problem - open door fully and pull out the black hard plastic bung from inside door edge

Easily the best looking hot hatch at the minute, especially compared to those horrible corsa VXRs. Good choice mate.
