The girlfriend and I are toying with the idea of buying a new Elise. Does anyone know when the S2 is due for replacement?

Lotus have a habit of constantly delaying/changing plans/cancelling future models.

The new Esprit is I think due 2009 and the series 3 Elise will likely be a year later. I don't see them releasing 2 new models in one year.

I remember reading a few years back that the S3 Elise would be bigger and more comfy - also a bit more up market to make it compete with the Boxster.

Credit crunch may well make them put it back even further as demand for luxery and sports car is probably going to fall back sharply for the next few years at least.

I am now looking at Exige Ss and possibly Caymen Ss too.
It's not often that I actually find more money than I thunk woz there.
