Default Which Estate would u recommend?

Thinking of changing the scoob for a more economical motor.
Budget of around 6k.

I need more space and also less trips to the petrol pump but still reasonable power.
I was thinking maybe an older Audi A6 TDi?
What about BMW?

Thanks for any response

Mondeo Diesel 130TDCi lots of torque and a cheap tuning box will see you with a decent power increase.
Any BMW or Audi you get for 6K is going to be old, leggy and cost you money IMO.

edit to add a 2003/4 car with decent spec ie zetec and circa 40K miles is yours for under 6K.

Bloke I work with has an X type, one of the few cars where the estate looks better than the saloon IMHO.
Might stretch the budget a little but 2004 going for under 7k.

Think they'd changed the head and injectors by late 2003. The weak spot on those cars is the clutch and flywheel. Best to buy one with warranty which is possible within budget.

No passat is good to drive. That's a fact. Wallowing, understeering blunt instrument.
