Default golf mk4 alarm keeps going off

its the std fitted system to a 2000 gt tdi


cars parked up road at night and had a note on it today saying alarm keeps going off lol

any way to sort it or switch it off?

Put a molotov cocktail through the back window. Apparently that always sorts out malfunctioning car alarms.

Use the button by the drivers door to disable the ultrasonics. See if that helps.

If you really get stuck your best bet is to get someone with the software or the dealer to have a look at it for you. This type of car/alarm usually log the last 10 alarm triggers, so if all the alarms are triggered by the bonnet sensor, fitting a new bonnet sensor is a good bet on sorting it out. Fortunately the one on mine is working well so I have not needed to develop a deep understanding of the MK4 golf alarm, touch wood.

I work for VW I might beable to get hold of the machine for a weekend for ya see what was the last reasons for setting alarm off??

Mine did this, it was the rain getting in under the rear wiper and setting the boot sensor off, so the car thinks the boot is open. Common fault apparently
