Default What i sold the V5 STi Type-R for...

Hi all,

after a nice long line of some amazing scooby's, ive gone for a little change and ended up with my new animal supporting around 500bhp

got rid of this 392bhp rapid machine couple of months ago

to get my hand on this baby skyline (around a mere 350bhp) R33 GTR V-Spec in midnight purple...i always dreamt of getting one

but since getting this, have been pursuaded to go full whack with this T78 TRUST prepared FD3 RX7 type RII

quick spec of the car:

Mazda RX-7 FD3S
dyno'd at just under 500bhp on a safe map and boost...might tamper with it a little
1994 Type R II
Trust / Greddy T78 Single Turbo
NAGISA AUTO (HKS F-CON) ECU
13B REW Race Spec – Full Engine Rebuild Circa 5000 Miles Ago
Extended street port
Cold Air Feed
Huge Trust 3 Core Side Mounted Intercooler
Trust / Greddy Air filter
Trust / Greddy T78 Single Turbo
Trust / Greddy Exhaust Manifold
60mm Trust Wastegate
Trust / Greddy Enlarged Throttle Body Elbow
External Screamer Pipe
Largened Downpipe
Santoi Garage custom exhaust
Greddy Pulley Kit
NGK Iridium Spark plugs
Trust HT leads
High Flow Fuel Pump
uprated earthing kit
Stainless Steel Fuel Lines
OS Giken Twin Plate Clutch System
Lightened and skimmed Flywheel
Rollcage
1.5 Way LSD
Quickshift
Cooling Pan
Mazda Speed Power Plant Frame
Diff Mounts
Transmission Brace
Stainless Steel Braking Hose
Ride Height Race Suspension with Damping
EBC Brake Pads
Carbing Front & Rear Strut Brace
Harnesses

Still needs a little work to make it look the business as its quite standard outside except from a set of Rays's deep dish gram lights...will keep the progress posted...

This now also means the R33 GTR V-spec is up for sale...if anyones interested, drop us a PM...

More decent pics to follow shortly...

Sorry, but out of all of them I prefer the type r, not being bias or anything, all awesome cars but the type r would get me looking!

Was that a standard type r colour then?

after selling it i did hear something about the guy crashing it...was gutted...

the scooby was originally white but had a bare metal spray job around 2004ish, i think one of the previous owners is from scoobynet...

as with the skyline, it wasnt a heavily sooped up one, around 350bhp so up to a 100mph it couldnt touch the scoob, but it was good top end...

skyline up for sale if anyone is interested as its just garaged at the mo...

1996 R33 GTR V-Spec...standard exept an apexi PFC mapped to UK fuel, os-giken clutch, exhaust induction etc... looking around the 10k mark...low mileage at 50,000...PM me if interested

He sold it 3 weeks later? Not a very long period to keep a car. Why do people do this?

Shame about that gold scooby. I strongly considered buying it at one point. I was in the market for a version 5 and it ticked a lot of the boxes. My only fear was why had it been sprayed, etc and I lived too far away to just pop down and give it a once over/meet the owner.

How can you "lose" a Scoob on the public roads FFS?! I've never come close to the limits of my Scoobs on a public road. Crazy

Anyhoo the RX7 is gorgeous ... still looks great today even 10yrs+ after they left the showroom

You havn't been going quick enough .

I rarely do anything other than cruise in the car now, but on the odd dry night it gets a good blast round some local B roads.

^^ Cmon fella, if you're travelling fast enough to lose a Scoob on the public highway then you're going way too quick

With ya fella, i had that scoob for over a year and admittedly took a few roundabouts at some mental speeds and only got the common 4wd skip but it used to go round like it was on rails.

now this RX7, this is a different story all together, can smoke the rears in 3rd

So which was you fav as a daily drive and all round performer ?.

I'm guessing the GTR was just a little lardy but quick.

The RX7 Bonkers quick, but viertually unusable.

So the the 392bhp best all rounder ?.

OK...

The GTR was stunning, but up to say 100mph it would not have seen which way the scooby went...but after 100 it just keeps going (in controlled and legal circumstances of course )

The RX7 is just mental, scares the crap outa me and anyone whos has a ride in it...not an everyday car with the fuel consumption and ride height, but hey who gives a f**k, you dont drive cars like these for practicality. I mean, i get thumps up from big bikes when they cant pull away quick enough and create a distance

as an everyday drive, it has to be the type R, usable power and super reliability
