Dilema
Ok,
So I've gone from UK to Vancouver, Canada.
Before I left I was really looking forward to driving some American muscle
But I've now had a look at a few Mustangs, bit tacky and not that quick
Dodge Charger SRT8, 6.1Litre, 425 horses and it does go...
Magnum SRT8, same as the Dodge (same engine) but comes in estate form
Chrysler 300C SRT8, nice interior..same engine.
After buying the wife a nice Hyundai SUV at the Chevvy dealer I was looking at a yellow Z06 Corvette, very very tempted...but $100k or £50k in real money...
So I had a look at what else they had...and finally came across a Pontiac Solstice GXP, 2 litre, turbocharged, 260bhp, Sounds fantastic, RWD and lots of rain here so much sliding, only $40k new...$38k one on the lot, black, auto (which I preferred) and lovely little dinky thing.
So, stick to the origianl plan and get Muscle...or go with something that drives like an elise (nearly) but is comfortable and more reliable (?) but is still hugely fun...
Did look at an old S4 but it was expensive and dull (All the european cars are over prices here...new elise is $70k...)
Anything else I should be looking at for 2 seater sports fun in North America?
Cheers
Dan

How are the winters in Vancouver ? and what are the roads like?
lots of straights, or lots of twisties, do they have heavy snow fall, or is it like here but warmer?
That Soltice looks quite nice, what was wrong with the Dodge or the Chrysler ? you didnt say how they were only the Mustang

Twisties, Yep quite a few up round the mountains
All the roads around the city are straight, I've seen 3 "roundabouts" but I don't think anyone knows how to go round them properly
All the "proper" cars have 5 seats and can lug some suitcases but going to work I only need 2 seats the SUV takes care of airport runs and getting stuff from IKEA or picking up another TV for the basement
Charger, has got good brakes...the 425 Bhp and pounds of torque do give it an urgency makes a very very nice noise.
300C, bit of a tourer, the chrome makes it look pimped (not a bad thing!)
Magnum, proper pimpmobile, I like the styling.
I'm thinking get the Solstice now...then trade it in 12 months time for the new Camaro (yellow with a black stripe...just for my 9 year old son you understand...)
6.1Litre vs 2Litre with a turbo (12mpg vs 20mpg...but petol is only a $1 a litre)
Sorely tempted by the Solstice
Cheers

It is actually a brilliant film imo. I watched it at the cinema with the mrs. I don't know many other males who have watched it!
Sorry to go off at a tangent..
