Default 2.0FSI cambelt change

Does anyone know when the cambelt is due to be changed on a 2003 2.0fsi petrol Audi A3?
I've seen 2 cars - 71k and 80k and the sellers say they don't need changing until 115k - sounds a bitdubious?

Thanks

not sure - it's the facelifted A3 (2003my>)

some searches show it's due at 115k miles or 4 years - if the car done just 71k or 80k surely it shouldn't need doing should it?

I have the 2.0 A4 and the manual says a new cambelt at 115k, but the dealers and even the specialists recommend a new one at 80k.

I decided against changing mine which was serviced in Feb on 83k (dealer wanted £850 for the service inc new belt ), but I guess its up to you, and depends how long you plan on keeping the car.

Thanks for the help

Petem95 - have you had any problems with your car (i assume it is the 2.0fsi) - whats it like to drive (nippy, sluggish, etc)

I'm currently running a 13000 miles astra 1.8sri with XP (06 model) which looks ok but i find it too revvy (all rev and no go) but it has 2 years warranty left
I like the look of the 03> A3 sport but wary of any looming problems with a high mileage car and not sure if it'll be nippy enough to keep me interested?

cheers

As I work for Audi, the interval is 115K, but personally I would always recomend a cambelt change at 80k or 5 years, yes it maybe pricey from a dealer but it will be more pricey if it snaps.

Are there any common problems on the 2.0fsi petrol engines?
