Default Focus Rs or Leon Cupra R

Has anyone owned both or owned one or the other??

Just looking for the pros and cons. I know the cupras are cheaper to run and insure and can be mapped to 270 bhp no probs witch is really appealing, but theres something about the Rs which says Im special.

Sould I spend 13k on an Rs or 9-10k on a cupra map it and have a much quicker car wit half the running costs and 3k in he bank - Or have an Rs which will still have the appeal look at me factor of the scooby and make you feel a little special everytime you drive it. I don't know advice needed.

Agree with above got for the RS without a double - but take your time and get a good one - I almost bought one - test drove 5, 3 felt horrible one drove well but dodgy body work - last one drove well but guy wanted far too much cash !
Have a look here -lots of info FFOC :: Ford Focus Owners Club

And the RS is only Group 16 insurance and (iirc) the Leon is 18.
I think running costs would be very similar except when you need new discs and pads!
I had one for 18 months and never ever regretted buying it, but really regret selling it!

My neighbour tunes Fords for a living. He was telling me the car to have is the RS. He would have developed more for it if it wasnt so limited in numbers

Agreed

I had one for 2 years, and really miss it.

Pads are very expensice. £279 for the anti-squeel ones.
I actually have a new set that I bought for my RS. Bought the Scoob before fitting them.

If anyone knows someone who wants a cheap set of RS front pads, let me know.

What about an S3, as tunable as the Cupra but with more traction,

I do like the RS though, would be paranoise about it getting nicked though.
