Recommend £1k sporty 4 door..
Pal of mine has had his Rover 200VI written off and is looking to replace it. It was a 4 door so he's looking for something similar for about £1000.
Not a BMW he said
I'd sell him my 200VI but mines a 2 door
Over to you scoobynet experts

i know he said not a beemer, but really for that money you won't get anything nicer to drive or better built than an old 325i.
oh wait - what about a Mercedes 190 2.5 16?
that's a BRILLIANT car...totally over-engineered!
why go front wheel drive when you can get a proper car?

It's all I drive now, the Q7 has become exclusive property of the wife, she only gets a go in the golf if she asks nicely

The thing about the saab/beemer/lexus option is the fear of a big bill. High mileages and (generally) heavy cars... could be a bit creaky too. That's why an old barge costs more than an old micra...
But if you don't mind that, there's value there!
