Default Thought these Golf R32s were meant to be quick.....

OK, ok, a little bit of a wind-up

Had a play with an 05 R32 today (I've got an S4 Bi-turbo - 2.7L V6)

Think the chap was a little bit miffed that he couldn't catch up (let alone get past )

I thought they were meant to be the Golf to have.....

Would have thought with a 3.2, it would be pretty potent......

Very nice looking though - just too small for my needs

Is that the new one?

Either way they are not meant to be record breakers 0-100 or whatever, I think they are sold simply as a point to point racer for a white collar worker?

My modded Scoob panned one joing a slip road, and i mean obliterated it however as the speeds rose he started to catch me, luckily (for me) the conditions and traffic meant + licence preservation we had to calm it otherwise i imagine my *** would have been handed to me.

I'd still have one - it impressed me

Old and new R32s aren't that quick. My S2000 could breeze past the old ones and I pulled away from my uncles new one up a very steep hill (s2000 = no torque huh? ). At crail I raced two and passed them effortlessly halfway down the strip opening up several car lengths on the other side. My scooby would just drop them for fun.

Lovely sound though

No no, there were bends involved too Not exactly the Audi's forte, I'll admit, but I was wholly under-whelmed by it. I was expecting to be impressed....

Perhaps they're nicer to be in then........

LOL - bollix

Seriously, I genuinely thought that the R32 was a very quick car Mind you, in all fairness, it wasn't like I'd left it as a spec in my mirror

Besides, the difference between the lighter (?) 3.2 R32 and the 2.7 engine..... would have thought the difference would have been less....

what are the specs - anybody got them to hand? (can't be ar$ed to go searching! )

Magic - thanks. Not that much in it actually. I'm heavier (no wise-cracks please!), but about 30 more horses.....

Nice looking car though

To be honest i think the power figure they produce is pretty lame for a 3.2

Well, this is what i'm in a not very roundabout manner, getting at...

Would be interested to see how the A3 3.2 Sport compares...... *should* be the same

My best mate has one of these, great fun to drive but not the fastest thing on the road they do seem to have a few flat spots but you can have the ecu remapped which will release a couple more bhp & torque but more importantly gets rid of the flat spots. IIRC he did a 13.6sec quarter mile after the remap, oh and in the bends far better than my scoob. All in all I would have one tomorrow.
