Cool Picked up my new car on Saturday - With big thanks to RB5 336

It involved a bit of a trip, from Thailand to Manchester, then from there down to Brighton

https://www.scoobynet.com/private-sa...le-needed.html

But it was definitely worth it, the drive home (to the North West, not Thailand) was fantastic

Thanks again Sean, both for holding on to it, and for your hospitality when I finally got there

That's all the time I'll have to enjoy it for now though, I was back at Manchester airport on Sunday for the short flight back to the office

It's actually my second 16V, I sold the first one because I was coming out here and MrsD told me I needed to thin the fleet down a bit

Buying this one was a spur of the moment decision, but as my beloved is soon to be selling her Mk1 MX5 it will get to stay

I drove Crispy back to the airport in it on Sunday morning.

Crispy, I'm impressed, you bought well. Handbrakes well around Dun Cows, jumps a few feet in the air over the bridge on Cocksmoss, revs way past its limiter to at least 9000rpm, ***** a rear wheel up a good foot in the air on the limit, and is great at doing burnouts in car parks.

Were the tyres bald when you bought it? And I'm sure the engine didn't knock when i picked you up??

It's amazing how many people have offered to do that for me Jacko

You are more than welcome to try, but I've a feeling MrsD may have strong objections

Bit of a plug but if you intend to do any work on the car then we have several projects of varying degree and interest on Northloop at the moment. It might be worth taping into that knowledge

Thanks for the offer Gutmann, but apart from getting the bodywork into tip-top condition, fitting the Borbet Cs currently occupying my loft, and maybe some decent speakers (I'd forgotten just how sh!te blaupunkt ones were), this one will be staying untouched.

I might just have a look for curiosity's sake though
