1996/97 Nissan primera diesel
#2
My mates had one for about 2 yrs and the only problem he's had was with a seized rear caliper, apparently this is quite a common problem but is mostly due to the rear brakes not getting as much attention as the fronts (as on most cars). He bought it wth 85,000 on the clock and I think its at around the 110,000 mark now.
He said he gets around 45mpg at a steady 70 on his 80 mile commute to work and back every day.
I drove it when he first got it and it felt ok for an older tech diesel, pulls nice in any gear and the suspention felt quite good as well. The bodywork is now starting to show a few small blisters but they are mostly due to large stone chips that never got touched up.
Overall a really good cheap motor that does exactly what its supposed to .

Nice one.
Considering a cheap oil burner, but not sure if this is the one for me. The one i've looked at is the turbo diesel and as such I'm thinking it may be more trouble than its worth because of the high mileage (130k) and its always been used on short trips.
But thanks for the info.
