they had loads of them at one point due to some homologation technicalities, but i suspect most of them are tucked up in climate controlled garages...

when my mum bought her Escort in 1989 - a pop plus there was one in the Macclesfield showroom for £35k. Should have bought it then really, but it was twice the price of a mid terrace

But if you could afford the car you wouldn't worry about the costs and the RS200 is a fantastic car.

The build quality of them was appalling, (built by Reliant at Tamworth next to the Rialto), and despite what that advert says there was never a factory "Evolution" as they never lasted long enough to "evolve"

There was a guy on SN - Richard, who used to own one. What a car! I remember being a passenger with him through France - on the way back from the Nurburgring. That trip will live with me to the day I die!
Just changing gear was an event - We were doing close to a ton and Richard changed up into fourth - the car spun all four wheels and snaked on the road as it fought for grip. Think we saw somewhere north of 150 before Richard backed off! There were some very tasty Scoobs on that trip - tricked up Jap imports etc and they were all made to look very ordinary by that car.It also got more attention than any other car parked at the Ring and there was some serioius machinery there.
The worst thing was the triple plate racing clutch - it would stall below about 5000 RPM, so coming into the petrol station at Calais was a little interesting. Whole coach loads of people looking at us probably thinking who's that to**er showing off by reving the engine
I think we ended up pushing it onto the ferry because the bite point of the clutch ws just too sharp. It's one hell of a car, not what you would call an everyday drive, but still one of the most memorable rides I've ever had - it's right up there with being driven around Modena by Horacio Pagani in a Zonda!

They had loads of them, not due to homologation problems, but due to the FIA banning them from competition, and not ever achieving anything no-one wanted to buy a rally car with no "Pedigree"

24 Of them to be precise, but never recall the "Evo" tag being used at the time of production, I may be wrong but never took much interest in them as they were always overshadowed by the 205 T16, Quattro S1 and Delta S4 and in some cases a Metro!
