Default Advice needed reg VW Polo

My girlfriend is wanting to buy a:-

VW Polo
R reg 98
78,000 miles
silver 3dr
1.6 cl

£900

bad bits:-

blob of rust under drivers door (not that bad)
and drivers door central locking is knackard

anyone got any idea if this is a good deal?

Service history, Tax, Mot, Number of owners etc. Loads more to know if your getting a good deal or not.

Oh yeah and give us a pic of your misses and we'll tell you if she would look good in a Polo

Have you looked at Glasses Guide?? TBH its best getting a local mechanic to give it the once over first..... just to make sure its not a complete donkey

As said above get a mechanic to give it a once over first before you buy!!

A girl at work has one of those. Very rusty??? I have a 1996 Golf D which is a bit better somehow? Dub's of that era are robust though, so as long as there is signs of maintainence and essentially a cambelt change there should be no problem.

the central locking is probably a little plastic bar that is prone to snapping in the mechanism. it costs pence and takes minutes to fix if this is the case.
