£10k for W/E / track car
Going to sell the modded DC5 soon as I'm moving to a permy job with a pay cut but company car, so I will be getting a 3 seriers for work duties and I'm after a RWD (YES, RWD so no 306's) track / Weekend car.
It must be quick 0-60 sub 6 sec to get my pulse racing
Relaible with low maintence, have a windscreen and not look like a bag of dog poo.
I was thinking of a catefield or similar. thoughts please...

You wont get much of a Caterham for 10k.
How about an S2000?
They go really well and are reliable, will keep you warm and dry and you can listen to the radio on the way home.
If you are considering a Westfield you will be best off joining the WSCC.

Don't want to mod (been there done that) anything and the S2000 would be cracking, especially around track, however very high insurance.
Need something much cheaper to run, needs to be light weight and ultra reliable and RWD.

MX-5.......................it's not blisteringly quick,but they are good fun,totally reliable,pretty economical(28-30mpg in normal'ish use),light and for only 3k you would get a decent 1800cc example.
Unfortunately,if you don't want to modify a "standard" car,but want something totally reliable,it does rule out quite a few of the track based cars,as a lot have the K-Series engines.Having said that,i had an early Ariel Atom last year with the K-Series and never had a single problem with it.
