EVO6 more fun than scooby ???

Define "Evo 6" and "scooby"...
My bog standard 6 GSR is huge amounts of fun. My mates (TopCat) modded scoob Catalunya is also huge amounts of fun, and quicker .
If you listen to (reasonably) impartial drivers who've been in both, there isn't much in it between the P1 and the Evo apart from personal preference things (cabin style, seats etc.), mechanically they're well matched. Some prefer one, some the other... IMHO, they're both great cars.
Although having a front-mount intercooler to start with is handy in the tuning stakes... :P

Had a MY98 Terzo for a year, full SS exhaust, induction kit, ..... loved the car to bits, still sad about selling it now.
However, i now own an Evo6 (had her 9 days now), the Evo is alot more of a performer, grip is unbeleivable (with cheaper tires on than the Scoob) .... we are talking huuuge amounts of grip(even though the roads havent dried since i bought her ) ....... very precise, smoother, faster, better brakes, errr.....better interior, no squeaks either! More exclusive, as theres not as many about, what else can i say?
But like i say, i`m still sad about losing the Scoob,(g/f also prefered the scoob), me and that car had a friggin great time this year, she had character too, which i have to admit the Evo has`nt, but all said and done, i want as much performance as is possible, and the Evo certainly delievers
You Wont Be Disappointed

You got mail back Tim
She`s silver so
Sorry to hear about your mishap though Nearly spun mine today, tried over taking a guy on the outside going round a roundabout, roads where dry(though the salt dust had made things very slippery it turns out)......dont know who was most surprised, me or the guy in the Focus been overtaken by a sideways moving Evo6!!
Have to say though i managed to correct it *very* smoothly (or was it the car that did it?? ) and was well impressed by the whole composure of the car
Rich.

Your welcome any time,
Rich and I had a good chat and a bite to eat on Saturday night, and the girls had a good gossip, but I am sure we can do it again soon.
How about it Rich ?? another get together but with more "Low Flying exocet Pilots " to keep the chat flowing !!!!!!!
Sounds like a good Idea to me
Cheers and Happy New Year to all

err, you ever driven a Evo?? i think not.
Within hours of buying my Scoob i was drifting it around corners, a very predictable, easy thing to control, lets go all four wheels at once, no bother at all.
Along comes Evo, i was very scepticle as i`d heard what you`ve just written above....will it take away the input that the Scoob require to drive fast? will it be boring driving on the edge as the electronic bits do all the work for you??
Hell No!
I`ve had the Evo6 for about a month now, i`m just, and i mean *just* getting to grips with what it will do coming out of a corner.Get the power dead right and she`ll slide all four wheels just like the Scoob, get it wrong, too much power for instance, and you`ll find the back end coming `round on you, meaning opposite lock/feathering throttle to bring her back in line.....hardly your`s or my expectations! My mate bought his Evo6 a few weeks before i bought mine, he said before i bought mine that his handled very simluar to a rear wheel drive car, i though "yeah right" .......little did i know!
It has to be said though that the Evo holds so much more cornering speed than the Scoob, it was pretty frightening at first to get to the limits of where the cars starts to break away!
Enjoy your Scoob, i certainly did (and very much miss it for various reasons), but please dont tar Evo`s and their drivers with the brush that someone else has dipped in the pot for you.

My mate just bought a evo 5 in white, splendid car must say in standerd form apart for 18's this car is a animal was i impresed?? dam right.
lovly inside so much nicer than my scoob, looks like it's worth the money he paid, he took me out in the thing and it had my clinging on telling him to chill out bit mental considering he'd only had it 2 weeks at the time!
It did feel faster than my scoob even though mines tuned a fair bit, but then cars always feel faster when your in the passenger seat. I dunno i don't think they'res a great difference in performance but for a standerd car? an animal.
I know what I want next now anyway.

Never tried a evo6 but had a test drive in evo7 the other week and loved the way rear end slides out on corners ( yes allowed and encouraged on test drive!!!!). Try same thing in my uk300 and does not want to know, have to lift off oversteer to get same feeling but have come close to spinning so a little scared now!!! evo7 amazing fun not sure if it justifies £30,000 worth of fun. Though very tempting.

just go for it, i have had my E7 for over a month now, there are great cars. the fuel tank/consumption is a joke!!! but apart from that much better put together than the scoob.
i have got a ralliart car, they come running 1.2 bar of boost as standard, and the ecu and the car can manage up to 1.4-1.5 bar off boost with no problems. so you can just raise the boost and get your self a 350bhp car for less than 1k now that is a bargin

Sorry to pick you up on a point .
You claim the EVO VII is better put together than a Scooby. Not sure you have owned a new shape ?. The EVO's Ive been in certainly are no better than a new shape Scooby. Most things are better put together than the old shape though

fair point jonathon. it won't be long though before the car is officially out and then proper comparisons could be made .
saying that compared to my MY99 it is night and day really. you can't even compare the cars they are in different leagues.
