panda
I had a panda 1.3 multijet diesel the other day as a courtesy car, I just thought I'd say how impressed with it I was, and how amazed at the tininess of the turbo. Not sure about the 76mpg claim stickered all over the side though.

I was considering one of these things recently. Both the C1 HDI and the Panda Multijet are in the running for some serious modern day cheap motoring.
Looking at pence per mile [C1=27PPM (Petrol Equivalent 24PPM) Panda=24PPM (Petrol Equivalent 25PPM)] they cost next to nothing. Both have 4 seats and 5 doors. Both have around 100lb/ft and weigh around 900kg’s. The C1 has less power, the Panda has more weight. The panda is the higher spec’d car, but the C1 is certainly more innovative and I think just pips the panda on fuel consumption, both over 60 on average. Both are insurance group 2 and cost less than a night out to tax for a year..........
No brainer really if you need a cheap commuter or 2nd/3rd car.

Have to agree about the Panda.
I was seriously tempted to get the wife a 100hp in January, and got so close to sighning for it until the dealer stopped getting in touch with me with a definitive figure to change....................it's a shame the dealers don't match the excellence of Fiat's small car's!!

As above mate,i was just in the market for a fun, economical small car for my wife, and because of the Fiat dealers i have just bought a Peugeot 107(Citroen C1/Toyota Aygo) for her,and it really is brilliant.............loads of space, fantastic economy, great handling, and to top it all off,a great sound from the (3 cylinder) engine,so if you are in the market for that sort of thing,it comes highly recommended by me (us).................and they do a diesel!!
