£10k Fun Car - What?
I know it's been done many times before but as time passes, other interesting marques come into the equation.
So, the car will be kept in a garage and run on sunny evenings/weekends for fun. Also the possibility of a few trackdays at Bedford/Donnington.
Let's have your ideas then.

I bought an S1 Elise last year (was after another bike, but my mrs wouldnt have that!)
Glad I got the Elise - used it pretty much daily since, great fun car for a little over 10k (inc getting the head gasket failure fixed!)
For a second car, purely for fun, at around 10k theres little to better it I reckon
Hope to do some track days this year

Thanks for the suggestions which have been right along the same lines as my own thoughts.
I have test driven a couple of Elise's (111S) and can't get comfy with my leggy 6' 2" frame. The steering wheel jams against my legs during full lock turns. They also felt very fragile to me but this could be that i'm use to German build quality. This is also why I have dismissed the Lotus 7 replica cars, although must admit I haven't tried to sit in one.
The S2000 appeals, I didn't realise that they had fallen under the £10k barrier. I use to own an S2K back in 2003 so know all about their abilities. A quick exhaust swap and off you go to motoring nirvana.
The other car that tugs my rug is the Porsche 968CS which has always been hailed as one of the great drivers cars. Looking on Pistonheads etc. they can be had near budget but with a lot of miles. Running costs are likely to be big £. Another option would be to relive my youth and purchase the iconic 205 GTi 1.9. I had a 1.6 back in the early 90's which I loved so maybe a well sorted 1.9 (mi16) could put a smile on my face for very little money.
Finally, another totally different train of thought would be to include the budget along with my current car and go and buy something fun for everyday motoring. Audi RS6 or BMW M3/M5. Obviously, the running costs would be more over 12mths with this option but the upside is that i would get more driving time to enjoy the car.
Hmmmmmmmmm

You'll fit in a wide bodied Westfield, but I have a niggling doubt the build quality may not be to your expectations! But if you appreciate raw driver appeal you have to lose those expectations I suppose. Bang for buck the Westfield gives pretty much the best trackday orientated option, but its not an everyday car IMO - some diehard WSCC members may beg to differ though.
If you do go for the everyday option I'd consider the weight of the car if you track it regularly - a heavy car will cost more in brakes / tyres etc

If you want something that will really turns heads then what about a Dax Rush, a buddy at work picked up a 4.0 V8 powered Dax Rush for just over 10k - although he has spent 3k on it since and there is nothing like it - and it looks simply awesome.
Not many about at this price though
