Have at last realised my dream and bought a Red 360 Modena
After years of "will I or won't I" at last I have taken the plunge and bought my ultimate toy. A red Ferrari 360 Modena with F1 gearbox. It is a 2000 car bought from Scotland's only Ferrari Main dealer. They are currently fitting front and rear Challenge grills to it, Scuderia wing shields and re-connolising the Sabbia (cream/white) leather. It has only done 18K miles with 3 owners and although I can probably never justify the car to myself, I would have just hated having gone through life without owning what I had dreamed about since I was a kid.
It is only now ( where I have a great everyday car - B7 Audi RS4) that it made any sense at all.
Will get the car by the weekend and will report. I did take the car for a long test drive last Saturday and was impressed to say the least. Will also submit some photos. Now just finishing doing up my garage in an appropriate manner to greet the car!!

...............and to think you could have bought a 4k subaru and spent 10k on mods and had a faster car in the twisties.
I'd expect for the money they cost, they should be substantially faster than a modded Impreza.

Fantastic cars that you can use everyday....wallet permiting! I bought an Impreza off a record producer and he picked me up from the train station in a bright yellow 360 and it was the b0ll0x After researching the price on them and realising they are pretty expensive i bought myself a GT3 kitted 996 Carerra 4 which was nice but not quite the same!!
Never been a fan of the 360 before that but i now love them and the fantastic exhaust note.........it's nearly as nice as a flat four rumble
Dave.

Well done that man. :-) Cant wait for the pics. I dont know anyone that has owned a Ferrari, and just see them as a `dream car` myself.
Be interested in hearing your thoughts when actually owning, living with one.

Congratulations on your dream car.
However, I have to say after driving a 360 a few times on a track that I couldn't drive them on normal roads. They are a chore to drive and the heavy clutch and gated gearbox made it hard work. (I realise you have the F1) I found both the STI and Porsche 996 Turbo much easier to drive and have fun in, certainly for the road. Especially with the quality of UK roads.

Great everyday car a B7 RS4
Very nice - Used to drive the inlaws 355 a bit and although it needed maximum concentration, it was great fun.
Dad had a "pretend" Ferrari 308 GT4 whilst his mate had a more real one - A 328GTS many years ago - They were pretty hard to look after then but times have changed.
Pics of the two cars together would be great!

Nice on Dave. 2 great cars, 1 very jealous poster
Can't wait for the pics (both cars together).
Just to let you know Dave. A drive to Darlington would be a good (run it in) drive for you. You can pick me up when you get there.

Very Very nice car indeed.
Daveyboy stop being a ****!!
a 360 Modena is not a Porsche boXster its a far far better car than that.
Its a far far better car than an STI its also a far far better car than mine.
Unlike you numb nuts I know my limits.
Dave Middleton: An excellent choice. I hope you use her to her abilities

I have driven a 340 manual and to be honest i hated the gearchange, the car waswas virtually brand new but if felt notchy and not condusive to quick changes. Still do love the ally 'gate' though!
Nice care Dave

Having driven a 340 and an Enzo (on a track) with the F1 style gearboxes i found the paddle shift bloody good and easy to use. the change was smooth and quick, quick enough for me anyway. also nice having the semi auto option as it will do the downchanges if you forget or are just not in the mood!
