That's meant to be very different than the normal 225 which I was lucky enough to have over a weekend thanks to Renault being desperate to shift them.
My impressions were that although it was quick it didn't have any steering feel, no finess and precious little fun factor. I also thought the visibility so poor that it compromised my chances of driving as fast as I otherwise might. You can thank euro NCAP for that- coming upto junctions and roundabout I had to really slow down and crane arond the pillars to see what was going on.
The seats were nice though and it wasn't too bad on fuel, overall I wouldn't own one unless it was dirt cheap.

i had a 53 reg 1.9dci and the build quality of them is absolutly awfull the car was forever in at renault having something changed on it.
i had a drive of the 225 and to be honest apart from powerful engine they are just as crap
the main cause for concern was the steering the cars simply could not drive in a straight line and you were forever having to correct the steering resulting in front tyres lasting a whole 12000 miles and the rears 20000miles
glad the renault is now history for me and i have now got a real car

It came second in the "normal" car heat to the Elise, then in the final it finished mid-bottom of the table, but it was up against all the exotica!
It's special edition, not limited iirc, so as many as are ordered will be coming over here.
And I wouldn't be surprised if it's only out over here, we're the biggest buyers of RenaultSport models.
14,800 brand new from an internet broker too.

i would agree if it was a powerful car but mine was the 1.9 dci which i think was 120 or 130 bhp and having also had a 307 xsi and c4 vts and tyres were good for approx 21k on the front i would say 12k on renault is pretty crap
anyway the point i was getting at was the steering feel is crap and it was very difficult to keep it in straight line
it was not torque steer it just wandered all over the place and i had to keep correcting it apparently it is a charecteristic of the crap electric power steering they use
it occured on all the ones i drove when mine was in renault dealer which was most of the time i owned it

Have to say that as with the former F1 Megane this replaces and the new R27 Clio, I haven't seen any of them on site at the Renault F1 Team works at Enstone (where I work). There are countless 182s and 225s but no one seems to have judged the 'extras' worth the extra money, despite our whopping discounts and the pretty good average wage.
I'm not sure what that says though because we're not obliged to own a Renault to work there Indeed I have a Supra.. lol
