cant belive i have to do it
guys i am sorry to say time has come to sell my wrx and it is killing me sad i know but i love these cars but i need to raise some cash fore a deposit for a house and will need every penny once i do so would rather sell it to someone who will have the cash to look after it so the car has to go for a short time but i iwll be back in one as soon as i get the chance,
need some advice
i need a replacement and i know it will be no where as good as my wrx less power etc etc
i will have around 2.5 - 3k to spend has anyone got any good choices?
want something as new as possible low millage as possible and as much fun as possible! cant have a 2 seater as i have a german shepard so need to get her in the back.
was thinking of
fiat copue 20v non turbo as i am not sure about fiat and turbos but if anyone knows anything about them please let me know
306 gti-6
vectra gsi maybe (calibra v6 but its a caviler in a new body really)
bmw 328i sport
i know some will be less and some will be more and i maybe able to find a little more cash if it is the right car but 3k tops for now
so anyone please help
thanks

gtir a mate had one and cost him a fortune to keep on the road.
as for thr fiats are there any major issues with them and also any pointers on casts of swervicing belt change etc? service history a must or not too much of an issue? and the 20v turbo are they reliable and fiat have done a soilid build or is it best to go for a standard 20v
thanks mate

should i be the voice ov reason selling the scoob presume to get deposite and save on the high running costs,
dont scream but tdi is the way forward for you reasonable performance and 50 mpg's you'll save a fortune on fuel for starters thus being able to save quicker for replacement toy (another sub)

obviously theres less to go wrong with a non turbo but as long as they have been looked after then buying a turbo shouldn,t worry you , the more history the better cam belt servicing can be done at reasonable cost now (not at fiat who take the engine out) , its important that the coupe has good oil in it and that it has reguarly been checked / topped up , the coupe-forum is a great place to go and ask / find out anything about fiat coupes , you do have the option of a 16v or a 16vt as well both of which would be cheaper to fix should something go wrong ! (but you wont get the nice 20v sound)..........

Gti6 m8, loads of fun and nice and quick. You'll own something that you don't often see on the road, but you'll need a strong leg for the clutch .
BTW i assume you need to cut running costs as you could pick up a fairly decent classic WRX for under £3k.

its not soo much the running cost but it is a big factor thaqt in the first 6 months to a year i need all avalible cash and i will not have the funds if something likra engine failure happens so would rather some one who can afforsd to look after it has the pleasure as i see too many abused subarus on the road. and basicly just needed to raise funds and the subaru had to go.
i will be getting another as soon as i can or trying to buy one with the house but a newer lower millage edition would love to get a p1 or my53/54 sti but for the time being need a run around but wnat to be vein and **** and get something as new as possible.
hense the gti-6 or fiat coupe sonething that was a little more fun then a golk mk3 gti etc
so the more pointers the better

If you are selling the Scoob to save some cash, it's an absolutely crap idea buying a big engined or "performance" car as a replacement. As 34srm says - buy a TDi. The fact you have not mentioned one in your first post makes me think you've never driven one. If this is the case, give one a go

what about a 306 dturbo?
nice drive and half decent spec on them also fuel economy good and nice and cheap to service and insure
alternatively a 306 xsi is a nice car but cheaper to run than gti6

When you buy a house, particularly your first one you realise that you need a load more cash than you think you do. There are endless small bills that just mount up. Buying a 3 grand performance car is asking for trouble when you least need it. Get something reliable with a nice chassis and engine and enjoy trouble free motoring while you hose down your new brick-based money pit with cash.

How about a
1.8 (high miles FSH) Focus
Previous shape Astra (MK5? How many have they made now?)
Previous generation Civic, Corolla, 323
Some of these will have more key fob appeal than others. However, none is going to set your world on fire when you think about them. But, and this is a big but, when you climb into it on a cold morning and it starts first time and you hurl it around a few bends you will quickly forget your 4wd turbocharged missile. You can have fun in a slower car, more fun actually, but you will get hundreds of blinkered people on this site telling you otherwise.
I will be honest and admit that I was struggling to come up with a list of cars for you. Your budget is not huge and if you go for a car that was originally more expensive than my suggestions you'll start looking at quite leggy/old stuff. There are loads of Focus' about. Go and take a test drive and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Get a 106gti most reliable fun you can have for £2k-great handling, quick 0-60(for what they are),very hard to drive slow had mine from new and in 42,000miles had an abs sensor go that were it in fact the way prices are going wouldnt mind one as a second car now, even though i own a scooby theres times i miss the 106 for the fun factor, just a great little drivers car- brakes steering handling were spot on(though still lowered mine) suppose only thing that were a pain were the pedals were very close together, very good on fuel and not daft insurance-sorted.

Why not just get a boggo 1.6 Focus or something - It will be comfortable, handle well and be in reasonable nick.
Cheapo performance cars are so often a folly.
I had to flog the R32 and it felt like my World ended.
Actually, it got a lot cheaper, more convenient and less stressful!
