More CO2 at antiquated power stations was probably produced to make the electrical energy this car uses for it's 200 mile range, than the car would have used if it was running on petrol.
Why people buy into this 'save the planet with a leccy car' bollocks is beyond me, were they off that day at school when they covered physics?

I agree, as much as I'd love to take this for a spin, it does not solve the problem on a global scale, mearly a local one (emissions/polllution within cities).
It's interesting to point out that long before this "we're gonna fry/drown" global climate marlarky, there was open honest admissions that the electric car is not a "whole" solution to a global problem, but only addresses local pollution.
So until our cars have solar panels on the roof or have hydrogen fuel tanks, its not going to do squat (unless we all go nuclear). We don't even need electric cars or fuel cells, as a current internal combustion engine can run perfectly fine off liquid hydrogen (as proven by BMW over 10 years ago). However it still causes piolution to create hydrogen, as it does to make solar panels, or electric motors, waste from dead lithuim ion batteries etc etc.
The problem is always shifted elsewhere.
Still, at least this is an option to appease the closed minded **** greenies and the petrolhead.
