I used to have one, infact my dad bought it new in 1989. They are not cheap to keep - mine was a 2.2 10v quattro coupé and i struggled to get 20mpg, yet Saxo VTR's would leave me standing .

I sold it as a rough example about 3 years ago for £1k. It needed welding on the floor and the manifold had cracked among other things. Gearbox / diffs were ok though and I think it had 150k on the clock.

I replaced it with a BMW E30 325i which was a much better car, drove better, cheaper on fuel / parts and much faster. Do you have a car in mind?

Don't buy it unless it says "RS2" on the front grill and tailgate

I used to have a 1990 Coupe Quattro 2.3 20v and only sold it as it was going to need shocks replacing within the next year. The other problem with it was the power steering mounting bracket needed replacing. The only other problems I had with it were those caused my servicing at my local Audi dealership. These were the alarm being intefered with which put the car in to safe mode so it wouldn't start, so the garage had to get advice from alarm supplier how to start the car. It was a great car, went and handled well and was sad to see it go but happy with my replacement for it.
